Elon Musk has publicly endorsed Andrew Cuomo just before the New York City mayoral election, urging voters to back the former governor over his opponents. In a post on social media, Musk stated, “Vote Cuomo,” while cautioning against supporting Republican candidate Curtis Sliwa and mocking Democratic frontrunner Zohran Mamdani by mispronouncing his name.
Zohran Mamdani, who could become the first Muslim mayor in U.S. history, continues to lead the race but faces tightening poll numbers. Cuomo, despite past controversies surrounding his 2021 resignation amid harassment allegations, has regained ground in recent weeks.
Recent polling shows a competitive three-way race. A November 3 survey placed Mamdani at 43.9%, Cuomo close behind at 39.4%, and Sliwa trailing at 15.5%. With election day set for November 4, analysts say the final result could hinge on last-minute voter turnout and Musk’s high-profile endorsement.
