Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu delivered a landmark address on Monday, declaring that Israel is “committed to this peace” after the release of all 20 surviving hostages held by Hamas. The announcement, made alongside US President Donald Trump, marks one of the most significant breakthroughs since the Gaza conflict began nearly two years ago.
Netanyahu’s statement signaled a possible end to years of violence and suffering that followed the October 2023 Hamas attacks. He emphasized that Israel’s goal is lasting stability and security while ensuring humanitarian aid reaches civilians in Gaza.
Under the new peace framework, a ceasefire is being implemented, and hundreds of trucks loaded with aid are set to enter Gaza. Netanyahu described the agreement as “a moment of hope and responsibility,” highlighting Israel’s readiness to rebuild trust and prevent future hostilities.
Celebrations erupted across Israel as families welcomed the freed hostages home, with Netanyahu calling their return “a symbol of our nation’s strength and unity.”
