Hiba Green Foundation Launches Mission 1 Lakh Trees with Weekend Plantation Drive in Noida

Hiba Green Foundation has started its “Jungle Ugao” (Grow a Forest) movement with a tree plantation drive in Greater Noida Extension, aiming to restore green spaces and address challenges like rising temperatures, air pollution, and climate change.

The plantation drive, held on June 20, brought together local residents, volunteers, and environmental supporters who planted saplings in a green belt area surrounded by residential developments. The initiative is part of the Foundation’s ambitious Mission 1 Lakh Trees, which targets planting 100,000 trees by the end of the year.

Founder Hiba Khan said the movement focuses on creating urban mini forests and encouraging community participation in environmental protection. She highlighted the importance of restoring greenery as cities continue to expand and natural spaces decline.

“Where forests are disappearing, we are taking steps to grow new forests. Every sapling planted today is a contribution towards a cooler and greener future,” Hiba Khan said.

The Foundation aims to transform urban areas into sustainable green spaces that can help improve air quality, reduce heat impact, support biodiversity, and create healthier surroundings for communities.

Operating through volunteer support and community involvement, Hiba Green Foundation plans to continue plantation drives every weekend to encourage more people to participate in local environmental conservation efforts.
